She married my dad, Clarence, while on active duty at El Toro Marine Base, Santa Ana, Calif. She was discharged because she was pregnant with me (I was born Sept 1946). We lived at Basalome (sp?) Homes in the San Fernando Valley, then Rodger Young Village. My brother Mike was born in Glendale in 1951, while we lived at Rodger Young. I remember seeing TV for the first time there. A show called Beanie & Cecil, the Seasick Sea Serpent. Have some memories of that place, long time ago. I really enjoyed the article above.

It was a very special place and time. Our family lived there until it was closed down.
Special memories of going to school and church there. Very happy days and very special memories!
