My heart breaks. Please let’s name the wildlife bridge in his memory. The P-22 Memorial Wildlife Bridge. This beautiful creature has died from injuries that bridge is intended to prevent. RIP P-22.

on this very sad day today, that we said farewell to him.

Rest Peacefully P-22.

You will be missed, but forever in the hearts of so many!

I often wonder how P-22 and his extended family are surviving in this climate crisis we have created with concrete and pollution. There is plenty of water within smell and sight to him and all the other animals which we humans have greedily fenced off from them for us to waste with unwatched running faucets & doing a full wash for just a couple of shirts. The animals make are planet liveable, we are the despoilers who have trashed our home. And yes, we do have a lot in common. Thanks for pointing that out to those who care & hopefully those who have never thought about it or them. We must change this if humans want to have any quality of life in the future for our children & theirs. Thank you again.

Already cold but still quite soft & moist; smelled different from dog/coyote scat. One distinctive feature of longest segments–surfaces had ‘diamond/crosshatch’ pattern.

I Pulled it apart in several places–didn’t find bone or fur, but did find fingernail-size patch of still-red blood.

Took several photos–2 with measure tape visible before I collected & double- bagged it, placed in cool(est) outside space for lab analysis (Sorry–No WAY I’m putting it in our ‘fridge!)
